E-Learning & Online Education

I’ve been involved in online learning for many years.  I started taking online courses in 2000 as part of an online master’s program in human resource development (HRD).  I eventually became the coordinator of that program and also have a long-term interest in work-related online learning.  My earlier online learning research dealt with how HRD professionals integrate interpersonal interaction into online courses.  Many of the early (and current) e-learning products involve solitary reading and test taking rather than dynamic learning experiences.  Interpersonal interaction allows for the creation of online courses that have meaning and impact. Much of my more current online learning research relates to increasing accessibility to work-related training in community and technical colleges through online courses.
